Integrate Microsoft Teams with OX ASPM for Streamlined Security and Development Workflows

For developers, Microsoft Teams serves as a central hub for daily operations. With this in mind, OX Security has enhanced our Application Security Posture Management (ASPM) platform with seamless Microsoft Teams integration. Adding Teams to our connector ecosystem and functionality list addresses a common concern among AppSec and DevOps teams—the need to deliver security-related information directly within developers’ primary workspaces without major disruptions or negative impacts on efficiency.

The newly added Teams integration provides developers with targeted, actionable security alerts within their Teams channels. For instance, when a vulnerability is identified, particularly within recently deployed code, an immediate notification is delivered to the specified developer’s Teams platform. The notification will include essential details such as the nature of the issue, the affected code segments, and recommended remediation steps. This direct delivery of information eliminates the need for developers to navigate separate security platforms (i.e., logging into OX to see the information), which reduces context switching and accelerates the resolution process.

Another important aspect of this feature launch is that adding Teams to your OX instance facilitates enhanced collaboration between development and security teams, something many of our customers crave. Developers can now discuss vulnerabilities, assign tasks, and track remediation progress directly within Teams—all with information attached to the message rather than copied from another platform—and send information back to the OX Security platform to ensure proper logging and auditing. This integrated process promotes real-time communication and ensures that security issues are addressed promptly.

In a perfect software development world, where security and development teams work harmoniously side by side, perhaps messaging and alerting issues are nonexistent. For the rest of us (who work in highly complex organizations with elaborate software development challenges and pressure-filled, rapid deployment cycles), we need mechanisms to improve processes and communication in, across, and between teams (pun intended). Because OX is also a software development organization—thus, a software user and provider, like most of you— we are always looking to uplevel our communication about operational issues. The Teams integration with the OX Platform is one outcome of this effort.
